Jackie Kim was born into a family with over 70 years of fine bone china manufacturing history and spent her childhood doodling design ideas in notepads, fascinated by the way natural soil transforms into beautiful objects we use every day. She founded Twig New York in Long Island City to bring that lifelong obsession to life -- designing fine bone china dinnerware in-house and in close collaboration with artists, for people who believe ordinary moments deserve beautiful things.
Jackie Kim grew up inside one of the world's most storied bone china manufacturing families -- a heritage of over 70 years that shaped everything about how she sees objects, materials, and the everyday table. From a young age she was filling notepads with her own design ideas, captivated by the way raw natural soil transforms through craft into the beautiful, luminous pieces people reach for every morning of their lives.
She founded Twig New York in Long Island City to turn that lifelong fascination into a brand of her own. The collections are built in two ways: in-house designs developed entirely in the Twig NY studio, and close artist collaborations that go far deeper than licensing -- ceramic artist Hayoon Kim finding vintage cutlery at a London flea market and translating that discovery into embossed flatware shapes on plates, with cup handles cast as bent gold teaspoons. Molly Hatch reimagining the history of blue and white ceramics into witty, conversational tableware carried at Bloomingdale's. Each collaboration involves extensive discussion, iteration, and genuine creative exchange -- no recycled patterns, no shortcuts.
Behind every collection are Jackie's family's production partners, with over 70 years of manufacturing experience, ensuring that the artistry is matched at every stage by uncompromising quality.
