New York, New York · Est. 2022 · Founded by Katya & Meryl
Katya grew up painting and cried tears of happiness the first time she stood in front of the Impressionist paintings at the Musée d'Orsay as a child. Meryl grew up telling stories -- poems, short stories, then a career in brand marketing. They met online, became collaborators, then business partners, and in 2022 founded Vivee Home in New York. The name comes from the French vivre -- to live. Art-driven home decor designed to bring joy into every space, made with eco-conscious manufacturers, and built to give back: 5% of profits from every collection goes to charity.
Katya was a child in Paris when she walked into the Musée d'Orsay, stood in front of the Impressionist paintings, and cried. Happy tears -- the kind that tell you something important about who you are. She grew up with painting as her constant, eventually showing her work in contemporary art gallery exhibits, and arrived at a question she couldn't shake: how do you make art accessible to people who will never walk into a gallery? Her answer was the home.
Meryl has been telling stories her whole life -- childhood tales, adolescent poems, a career in brand marketing where she learned to bring brands to life through narrative. She volunteers at the American Cancer Society. She believes in the power of a well-told story to change how people see the world around them.
The two met online, discovered a shared vision, and founded Vivee Home in New York in 2022. The name comes from the French vivre -- to live -- and the brand is built entirely around that idea. Katya oversees art direction, product development, and maker relationships; Meryl runs the consumer-facing brand, copywriting, and storytelling. Each collection begins with Katya's drawings, moves through clay designs and 3D modeling, and arrives as porcelain pieces that retain a handmade quality despite a production process designed for accessibility. The design language is minimalist and emotionally resonant -- pieces inspired by Yves Klein's color philosophy, by the feeling of being embraced, by the simple act of paying attention to being alive. Five percent of profits from every collection is donated to a charity aligned with joy, creativity, and environmental responsibility.
On a registry, Vivee is the piece that makes guests stop and ask about it -- art in the truest sense, living on a shelf in a home where two people are just beginning.
