Irie Hansen spent the early months of the pandemic cooking more than she ever had and growing increasingly uncomfortable with what she was cooking in. Every air fryer on the market was coated in materials she didn't want heating her family's food. So she and her husband Andreas built a different one. Fritaire is the first non-toxic, self-cleaning air fryer -- glass bowl, stainless steel accessories, no Teflon, no PFAS, no compromises.
Irie and Andreas Hansen didn't set out to start an appliance company. During the COVID lockdowns, with every meal happening at home, Irie kept running into the same wall: she wanted an air fryer, but every option felt wrong. Bulky, plastic, coated in non-stick chemicals she didn't feel comfortable heating day after day for her family. So they started over from scratch.
Fritaire is what they built: the first air fryer with a full glass bowl, stainless steel accessories, and zero Teflon, BPA, or PFAS on any food-contact surface. It self-cleans with a button press, cooks in 360 degrees so you can watch without lifting the lid, and does the work of nine appliances in one.
