In 2018 he and his wife turned that lineage into J Brody & Co. -- a husband and wife woodworking business in Concord, California making handcrafted kitchen tools and home goods from American hardwoods, entirely plastic-free, with three generations of knowledge in every piece.
Joseph Brody's woodworking education began before he could have known what it would become. His grandfather taught him first -- the patience, the respect for material, the understanding that wood has a grain and a weight and a character that demands attention. He went on to study under some of the most talented traditional woodworkers of his generation, building the kind of knowledge that only comes from years of close apprenticeship and slow repetition.
In 2018 he and his wife founded J Brody & Co. in Concord, California -- a family business built on everything that three generations of craft had accumulated. Every piece is handmade from American hardwoods, chosen for grain and warmth and longevity. Entirely plastic-free. Entirely made in the USA.
