MESO is a Latin American design house rooted in Guatemala, founded by award-winning designer Diego Olivero in 2010 with a belief that beautiful objects should also do good. Each piece is handcrafted by artisan families across Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, and Peru -- traditional techniques, contemporary forms, and a supply chain you can feel good about.
Diego Olivero grew up in Guatemala surrounded by color, textiles, and the kind of craft that gets passed down through generations. He left to study industrial design in the United States, but always knew he'd return -- and in 2010, he did. MESO began as a design and interiors studio, built around a conviction that good design and meaningful impact aren't opposing forces.
Today MESO works with over 550 artisan families across Latin America, sourcing locally, paying fairly, and letting the makers shape the work. Mouth-blown recycled glass from Guadalajara. Terracotta vessels from Honduras. Woven textiles carrying centuries of Mayan heritage. Every piece in the collection is the intersection of where the maker comes from and where design is going. Olivero was recognized by the U.S. Department of State as part of the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative in 2016 -- a nod to the fact that what he's built is as much a social enterprise as it is a home goods brand. The objects are genuinely stunning. The story behind them makes them matter more.
