Sara Roberts spent nearly 20 years as Creative Services Director at ELLE and Marie Claire before the pandemic sent her back to the table -- literally. Cooking dinner with her family became the highlight of every day, and she started hand-painting her own table linens using watercolor and ice-dyeing techniques. That was 2020. Goldie Home is named after her grandmother, and every print in the collection begins with an original painting by Sara herself, printed on 100% linen made in Portugal.
Sara Roberts built her career at the highest levels of fashion media -- Creative Services Director at ELLE, Marie Claire, and some of the most recognized names in luxury publishing -- before walking away in 2020 to start something more personal. During the early months of the pandemic, with her family of four together in their Upper West Side apartment, dinner at the table became sacred. She started painting her own linens. Ice-dyeing, watercolor, hand-drawn patterns pulled from the streets of New York and the light of the Mediterranean. Friends wanted them. Then strangers did.
She named the brand after her maternal grandmother, Goldie -- a woman who exuded warmth, color, and joy -- and carried the name forward through her daughter and her niece, both given Goldie as a middle name. Every print in the Goldie Home collection is an original painting by Sara, translated onto 100% linen and ethically produced in Portugal.
