Austin, Texas · Est. 2021 · Founded by Shannon Ross (family-owned with parents Gary & Diana Ross and brother Griffin)
Shannon Ross grew up watching her father Gary design innovative, sustainable products at Highwave -- a company he founded in 1983 that accumulated 40 patents over three decades. When Shannon adopted her dog Rishi and went looking for pet gear that was as well-designed as the rest of her life, she couldn't find it. She founded Springland in Austin in 2021 to fix that -- smart, beautiful, patented dog essentials built around one conviction: dogs are family, and time with them is worth designing for. Shark Tank. Oprah's Favorite Things. Now in Target. Still family-owned.
Innovation runs in the Ross family. Shannon's father Gary founded Highwave in 1983, spending more than 35 years designing smart, sustainable products for an active lifestyle and accumulating 40 patents along the way. Shannon grew up watching him build things that made a real difference in people's lives -- and when she adopted her dog Rishi after moving to Austin, she immediately saw the next problem worth solving.
Pet gear was outdated. Uninspired. Products designed a long time ago that nobody had bothered to rethink. Shannon spent hours searching for dog accessories that were beautiful, functional, and worth looking at -- and kept coming up empty. In 2021 she founded Springer (now Springland) alongside her family: a women and family-owned dog essentials brand built on the principle that the same intentional design thinking that shaped human products deserved to be brought to everything a dog owner carries, pours, and hands to their pet.
The patented dog water bottle -- a squeeze bottle with a built-in bowl that delivers the right amount of water on a walk without waste -- became the founding product. It appeared on Shark Tank within the brand's first year, landed on Oprah's Favorite Things, and generated over $1 million in sales in the first year alone. The line has since expanded to treat dispensers, freeze-at-home treat bowls, and accessories across the full walk and outdoor routine. In July 2026 Springland launched nationwide at Target. Ten patents and counting.
On a registry, Springland is the dog category for the couple who wants their pet's gear to be as considered as everything else they own -- and who plans to spend a lot of time outside together.
