Iuliia Petriv founded Creating Comfort Lab in New York in 2017 with a deep-rooted Ukrainian spirit and a conviction that the objects surrounding us should be made slowly and made well. Working with emerging artists and master workshops in Ukraine and around the world, the brand produces limited-edition ceramics, glassware, and home goods using nearly forgotten techniques -- milk firing, hand carving, mouth blowing -- that turn everyday objects into something worth keeping.
Creating Comfort Lab was born from a simple belief: in a world that moves too fast, the things we surround ourselves with should ask us to slow down. Iuliia Petriv founded the brand in New York in 2017, drawing on a deep Ukrainian heritage and a determination to keep ancient craft techniques alive in a contemporary context.
Every piece in the collection is limited-edition and handmade, produced in collaboration with emerging artists and experienced workshops across Ukraine and beyond. The techniques are ones that most of the world has forgotten -- milk firing, which uses a centuries-old process to give ceramics a soft, silky surface; hand carving, which leaves the mark of the maker in every piece; mouth blowing, which means no two glass objects are ever exactly the same.
